How we can help

The Animal Behaviour Centre exists to support the wellbeing of pets and their people through accessible, expert services. Our team provides private consultations (in-home or online), puppy and kitten training, and professional guidance for a wide range of behaviour concerns. Using force-free, reward-based methods, we help pets thrive and strengthen the bond between animals and their families. All profits support The Lost Dogs’ Home, giving animals the best chance of a happy, healthy life.

Baby puppies (8-14 weeks) A 4-week rolling course for baby puppies focusing on early socialisation and essential development skills, helping you give your puppy the best start. This program is designed to support your puppy’s emotional wellbeing and covers age-appropriate socialisation, cooperative handling, and reading your puppy’s body language.

Senior puppies (14-24 weeks) A 4-week course for senior puppies introduces basic training and positive behaviour building. Your puppy will learn key skills like recall, loose-leash walking, and settling on a mat, setting them up for a lifetime of good habits.

Animal Behaviour Consultant

J is a qualified animal behaviour consultant and trainer with over a decade of experience in the industry. She has worked across a range of roles in animal shelters and veterinary behaviour clinics, specialising in behaviour rehabilitation and consulting with pet owners to address behaviour concerns in dogs and cats. J has also contributed as a subject matter expert in animal behaviour and handling, developing training programs for industry professionals, TAFE courses, and community outreach initiatives. She holds a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services (Delta Society) and Training & Assessment, and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour with the University of Edinburgh.

Animal Behaviour Consultant

O is an experienced animal behaviour professional with over seven years at The Lost Dogs’ Home and previous work in Local Government. She brings deep expertise in canine behaviour and behavioural rehabilitation in high-volume settings. As Behaviour Team Leader, she oversees assessments and rehabilitation programs for dogs with a wide range of needs. O specialises in anxiety, aggression, and arousal-related behaviours, with a passion for supporting large-breed dogs. She also has experience consulting with pet owners and running group classes using positive reinforcement. O holds a Bachelor of Science (Zoology) and is completing a Diploma of Canine Science and Technology through CASI.

Cat Behaviour Trainer

K is a cat behaviour expert with experience supporting cats in both shelter and home environments. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional, holds a Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour Counselling, and has completed a Cat Behaviour Consulting Mentorship with the internationally recognised IAABC. K is committed to staying up to date with the latest animal behaviour science and appreciates that every animal is an individual. She enjoys working collaboratively with clients, prioritising a calm and non-judgemental approach.

Additional pets

S is an animal behaviour trainer with years of experience both in shelter behaviour and private practice. She has experience in delivering behaviour modification programs for dogs in the shelter environment, providing educational programs, and working directly with pet owners to address behaviour concerns with their dogs and cats. She is a Fear Free Certified Professional and holds a Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services (Delta Society).
