At just 6 months old, Hugo is proof that sometimes the quietest kittens have the biggest stories to tell. This sensitive little guy arrived into foster care feeling very frightened of the world, preferring to hide away where he felt safe. But with patience, gentle routines, and lots of love, Hugo has slowly begun to blossom into a playful and curious young cat.

Watching Hugo learn to trust has been incredibly rewarding. Once he feels comfortable, his playful side shines through, he absolutely loves chasing balls and springs, wrestling plush toys, scratching away on his boards, and figuring out puzzle feeders for tasty rewards. He's a clever boy who enjoys enrichment and discovering new ways to play.

Hugo is still learning that people can be safe, so he appreciates a calm and understanding approach. Sometimes he'll give a little hiss if he feels unsure, but it's simply his way of asking for patience and space while he builds confidence. The quickest way to his heart is definitely through treats, especially creamy tube treats, which he takes with great enthusiasm!

While he's not quite a lap cat yet, Hugo has started enjoying the company of his foster humans, happily relaxing nearby on the couch or loafing on a cozy carpet while keeping quiet company. He loves sunny windowsills, soft cat beds, and the top of his scratch tree for afternoon naps, and has even started greeting his people when they come home and waiting patiently for dinner time.

Hugo is looking for a calm, patient home that understands shy cats and will celebrate every little milestone with him. For the right person, Hugo's journey from timid kitten to confident companion will be incredibly special to watch. Beneath that cautious exterior is a sweet, gentle boy who just needs someone willing to give him the time he deserves.
