Behind Simkha's watchful eyes and thoughtful nature is a sweet Staffy girl just waiting for the right person to help her shine.

At 6 years old, Simkha is a lovely mature lady who likes to take her time getting comfortable in new situations. She can initially be a little shy and alert to her surroundings, but once she settles and realises she's safe, her gentle and affectionate side starts to emerge.

One thing Simkha does appreciate? Treats! When she's feeling relaxed and not distracted by the world around her, she's very happy to accept tasty rewards and use them to learn and build positive associations. She's also quite easy to harness, making the start of your adventures together nice and straightforward.

Simkha is searching for an adults only home with confident, patient adopters who have experience supporting dogs that may lack confidence, particularly when it comes to handling. She will thrive with people who understand that trust is built over time and who are committed to helping her feel safe through gentle, force-free training methods.

While out and about, Simkha can become interested in other dogs and may pull towards them, but she's shown that she can still be redirected with tasty treats and positive reinforcement. Her future family will need to continue rewarding calm behaviour and reinforcing her ability to ignore other dogs when appropriate. Because she's a little underconfident around other canines, Simkha is looking for a single dog household where she can enjoy all the love and attention for herself.

She's also looking for adopters who can continue helping her build confidence around unfamiliar people through gradual, positive experiences that allow her to progress at her own pace.
