Introducing Poppy,
Poppy is a super sweet girl, finally ready to steal a place in your heart and on your bed!
Poppy is a sensitive soul, and while she loves the humans she knows in the shelter, she can find meeting a new person a little scary, and prefers to take things slow to make sure they're safe. So to make her new start to life a little easier on her, she will be best in a home where everyone is at least secondary school aged and can be respectful of her space and allow her to settle in her own time. If anyone under 16 lives at home, they will need to meet her in a meet and greet to ensure evryone is comfortable.
She has shown positive interest in dogs here at the shelter, but is still working on her manners and building confidence around them. If you do have another dog who you think could be a good role model for this young girl, bring them in for a meet and greet!
As Poppy has had a bit of a rough start to her life, she will need a home where her humans can slowly introduce her to the world at a pace that she's comfortable with. She's greatly benefit from a consistant routine, and some ongoing force free training. And with some encouragement, treats, and a whole lot of love, Poppy will be part of the family in no time!
If you think you could give this gorgeous girl the life she deserves, comes down to meet her today!
Please note, any children or dogs living at home will need to attend a meet and greet with Poppy before she can be adopted.
xx,
Poppy, 26kg
In a first for Australian animal shelters, The Lost Dogs’ Home Adoption Ambassador Program will give animals a better chance at finding a forever home by allowing people to adopt directly from our specially trained foster carers. This will negate the need for animals to return to the shelter environment.
