Meet Soxie - Calm, Classy and Full of Love!
Hello! I'm Soxie, a beautiful five year old Akita Inu with a gentle soul, impeccable manners and a heart that's just waiting to belong to someone special.
If you're looking for a calm companion who simply enjoys being close to her people, I'd love to meet you. I'm not one for chaos, I much prefer quietly hanging out by your side, whether you're relaxing on the couch, pottering around the house or enjoying a peaceful stroll together.
Those who have had the pleasure of meeting me or walking me, say I've been an absolute sweetheart. I'm wonderfully well behaved, always toileting outside like the clever girl I am, and I take treats ever so gently (because good manners never go out of style!).
I'm looking for a home where I'll be your one and only dog so I can soak up all the love and attention. While I can continue learning about other dogs through slow, positive introductions, I'll need a family committed to using kind, force-free training to help me build positive experiences at my own pace.
I'd also be happy sharing my home with secondary school aged children who understand my calm nature and appreciate a respectful canine companion.
I do have a little extra beauty routine! I have a pre-existing skin condition, so I'll need my family to help protect my skin from the sun with pet-safe sunscreen and avoid too much direct sunlight when possible. I'll also need regular grooming to keep my gorgeous coat looking and feeling its best. Think of it as a little spa day - I deserve it!
What I really want is a family who'll appreciate the quieter things in life. A comfy place to nap, tasty treats, gentle adventures and people to love... that's my idea of happiness.
If you're searching for a loyal, sweet natured best friend who will happily be your calm shadow and remind you to slow down and enjoy the simple moments, I'd love to meet you.
I promise to bring plenty of love, gentle companionship and a whole lot of heart to my forever home. Could that be with you?
Soxie xx

In a first for Australian animal shelters, The Lost Dogs’ Home Adoption Ambassador Program will give animals a better chance at finding a forever home by allowing people to adopt directly from our specially trained foster carers. This will negate the need for animals to return to the shelter environment.
